aNC Arquitectos, 2013

Porto, Portugal

The design of this psychotherapy clinic reflects upon the architectural codes of this typology, distancing itself from hygienist health spaces and moving closer to a restrained, intimate and cosy atmosphere.

The different moments of use - reception, waiting, clinic attendance, informal therapy and psychoanalysis - are discovered in successive spaces, semi-confined by winding partition walls.

The acoustic atmosphere is always adequately "deaf", highlighted by this cork texture under the incidence of natural light.

In a play with scales, the walls colours characterize being on one side or the other, the floor and ceiling with similar colour and brightness stress the extent of the space, and the furniture, homogeneous but almost domestic, returns the measure to the user.
